Welcome to the homepage of the Cascade Grotto!  We are Washington’s primary caving (spelunking) club! Since 1951, the Cascade Grotto has been promoting recreation in, education about, and conservation of the caves of the Pacific Northwest United States and beyond.  We’re a local chapter of the National Speleological Society (caves.org) based in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, however we have members around the region. We hold our open-to-the-public meetings in the Puget Sound region, and we’d love to share our interest in caving with you! As of 2024, we are now live-streaming all meetings!

On our website you can:

  • Learn About Us and what we do;
  • Find a list of scheduled meetings and Events;
  • Find out how to join the Grotto.
  • Learn about White-Nose Syndrome in Washington State; how to effect “clean caving” techniques and how to properly decontaminate your caving gear and clothing.

Contact Us: Contact all grotto officers with a single email: cascade_grotto@caves.org

We hope to see you underground!
