What we do

Trips
The grotto sponsors cave trips around the state year-round. Grotto trips are a great way to connect with members of the caving community and get underground!
Training
Practice essential caving skills as well as vertical rope techniques at Grotto skill-building events

Education
Learn about “clean caving” techniques and how to properly decontaminate your caving gear and clothing to prevent the spread of White-Nose Syndrome, a disease affecting bats, in Washington State.
Conservation
The grotto supports cave conservation and citizen science efforts through education, outreach, and volunteer activities like the annual Ape Cave Clean-Up.
