2019 Cascade Grotto Ballot

Please vote for one candidate per officer position. Each candidate must maintain membership in the NSS throughout their term. Votes will be tallied and the new officers will be announced and take their positions at the January 18th meeting.

Each candidate was asked the following questions:

  4. What you would like to accomplish in your role?

Responses:
Daryl Greaser for Chair:

  1. I have been caving for almost 40 years, with over 20 in an NSS-recognized grotto.
  2. I have been a Cascade Grotto member for about 2 years.
  3. I believe I am a good candidate for the position because: I bring over 20 years’ experience working within the NSS I/O structure; I have served previously in every officer position at my former grotto; I have already implemented processes that have increased membership visibility such as applying the PayPal button to the website, and more.
  4. I would like to accomplish the following in my role, if elected: 1. Upload our entire digital grotto library to our website; 2. Ensure regular publication of the newsletter; 3. Ensure beginner’s caving trips are scheduled at least once per quarter.

Chi Tran for Secretary:

  1. I have been caving for about 2 years
  2. I have been a Cascade Grotto member for about 2 years
  3. I believe I am a good candidate for the position because: I’m very organized and a good listener. I also have ok penmenship and can use all my fingers for typing like Mavis Beacon taught me.
  4. I would like to accomplish the following in my role, if elected: I would like to take notes as accurately as possible. Basically, be best

Nick Bertucci for Vice Chair and Secretary:

  1. I have been caving for 6-7 years.
  2. I have been a Cascade Grotto member for almost 3 years.
  3. I believe I am a good candidate for the position because: I’m a rope guy; tall trees, buildings, etc. I’m very familiar with vertical.
  4. I would like to accomplish the following in my role, if elected: My assistance with volunteering.

Eric Jorgenson for Vice Chair

  1. I have been caving for 4 years
  2. I have been a Cascade Grotto member for 4 years
  3. I believe I am a good candidate for the position because I have a lot of free time and energy.
  4. I would like to accomplish the following in my role, if elected: To keep the grotto functioning smoothly.

Talon Swanson for Treasurer:

  1. I have been caving for: Not counting my stint hiding in a laundry hamper when a kid, my first ventures into public caves were in 2007 with my first wild caves coming in 2012.
  2. I have been a Cascade Grotto member since 2012.
  3. I believe I am a good candidate for the position because: I’m probably one of the few people who honestly loves to do their taxes
  4. I would like to accomplish the following in my role, if elected: Transfer the grotto account over to a not-for-profit credit union (BECU) and continue accumulating records usable towards achieving 501(c)3 status
